Awards & Honors

David has been the recipient of numerous awards and commendations, which include the following:

2000:  Community Leadership Award from Bnai Zion Foundation

2003:  Environmental Champion Award from the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters

2005:  Man of Accomplishment Award from Amit

2006:  Under David Nahai's leadership, the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board was given the Environmental Champion Award by Keep California Beautiful.

2008:  Dorothy Green Award from Heal the Bay

2008:  Service Award by the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board

Under the leadership of David Nahai, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power received the following awards:

2008:  Climate Change Leadership Award from Green California

2009:  Los Angeles Heritage Award from Project Restore

In addition, in 2009 the Department of Water and Power was a finalist for the Theiss River Prize for the Lower Owens River Restoration Project.
